5 dollar loud blunts
For a while, I've been looking for a good compression setting for my vocal tracks. The main things I have the most trouble finding settings for are the threshold, noise floor, and the ratio. Could anyone please help me understand better?

No one can tell you what settings to use. What you go with will depend on the track you have, the context in which it is being used (how it sits in the song) and most of all your own personal taste. A quick google search will help you understand what compression is. I'm no expert, but you can start off by a ratio of anywhere between 3-5. Keep pulling the threshold down until you start noticing some gain reduction (the number in red). You probably don't want more than 6,7 dB on gain reduction at the highest parts. If the track starts pumping you pulled it down too much.

Thanks! That really helps me understand it a lot more now.
