Hey,
I work on an m-audio projectmix I/O and have been for about 3-4 years. I have been able to make some decent demos with the onboard pres, but I am ready to upgrade to something better.
I want to spend $700 or less on one outboard pre. (i.e. not channel strips)
Now ideally, if I had the funds, I would start building a 500 series lunchbox with api 512c's. But that isn't really in the budget at the moment.
Here is what I'm looking at:
True Systems P-solo
Daking Mic Pre One
UA Solo/610
Summit Audio 2BA-221
Grace m101
Those are a few. If you'd give me your opinions on those I would really appreciate it, and if you know of any other great deals for a single pre, feel free to add them.
