Hi,
I would like to grab a PREAMP for Vocal.
Genre: Pop, Country, Pop Rock
Budget: $300-$500
Your advices are appreciated!

Why is it a 'Must Have'?

- GAP Pre73 series (Neve based clone)
- Warm WA-12 (API based clone)
- ART Pro MPA II (tubes - full plate voltage, not starved plate)
- Focusrite ISA One (clean with a lot of connection options)
- Used Summit Audio 2BA-221 (mixable solid state/tube)

I use a Tascam US 16x8 USB Interface. My noise floor is around -87dbs when I use my shure sm 57 or 58 and around -72dbs when I use my akg p120 or at pro 70s in a untreated bedroom. You can also use it as a stand alone pre-amp as well. I love it. $239.00.

Since your one other post is about room treatment, a list of your current equipment would be helpful.

Wow, you are in luck. I just happen to have a Focusrite TwinTrack Pro 2 channel mic pre for sale. :D I was about to put it up on ebay, but I'll let you have first right of refusal.

Focusrite Platinum Twin Trak Pro |

It has the classic focusrite mic pre with an opto compressor. It's the compressor that gives it a signature sound. It also has some EQ options which basically makes this thing a channel strip; and a variable input impedance to match whichever mic you are using.

My asking price of $200 is below your budget. (You pay shipping). Everything was working good the last time I used it several years ago. I can hook it up and check it again.

If you're not interested then you might consider a True System P-Solo. I heard good things about them and have always wanted one myself.
