Preamp for live use - horn

Hi, all.

This is more of a live sound question then a home recording question, but someone might know.

I'm looking for a preamp I can put between the mixer and the SM58 we're using to mic my fiancee's trumpet (yes, more trumpet fun)

I'd really like for her to be able to control the volume on the thing, so ideally, it'd be able to be mounted on the mic stand, like those mic stand monitors or something

We generally don't have anyone running the board (small group, small venues) but her volume changes in a BIG way when she puts a mute in, or changes mutes.

Any idea of what sorta beast to use? Money is an object.

Yo Grover of the Old:]

Instead of buying your fiance` a diamond, buy her a Martinsound mic pre.

You can get Martinsound on the net.

That is the top of the line.

Going downhill, have your in-laws to be buy you an ART mic pre amp or test some of the others as long as they will pick up the tab.

Got to go....Kato is trying to run off with my last bottle of LeBatts.

Heh. I already got the diamond (well, a saphire with little diamonds) so it is a bit late. The whole thing just became moot - I just wrote off my car (my own damn stupid fault) so cash is going to be in rather more demand for day to day stuff then I was anticipating. Sigh.
