Hi,

Im looking to buy a 8 channel pre amp to go into my delta1010 so that i can record 8 channels directly into Nuendo. What pres do you reccommend for this i need at least 8 channels.... someone suggested the behringer one?

Thanks

or do you suggest something else would be better instead of pres straight to delta?

not a huge amount of money just something to give me a good sound

If you just need a mixer, I would suggest a Mackie as opposed to the Behringer. Each is fairly inexpensive. You could also check out the PreSonus FirePod. A bit more $$, but an interesting device. Or, if you are only recording one track at a time, you could check out a FMR Really Nice Preamp. Alot of bang for the buck.

If you are recording a drum kit, you may want to price Mackie 1604's on ebay. That is 16 channels.

I'm not a big advocate of Behringer, but I've read here of people being happy with it. I'd recommend the M-Audio Octane, but it's a bit more expensive, too.

yeh i was wondering about the m audio octane but i wasnt sure in the difference from spec between that and the behringer ada8000 any idea?

the main reason i liked the look of using the 8 channel pre amps with my delta was because my computer has space for 3 more delta cards and then i could just add another delta 1010 and another 8 channel pre and do all the eqing etc on the computer... or is this a bad idea and a better way?

im hopefully going to buy this soon.. anyone any other info?

Go with the Behringer one, it's priced right and matches the level of quality you're getting with that 1010 which ain't bad but ain't top notch. I've used those Behringer "IMP" pres and they are certainly decent for the price.

i only need the 8 channel pre for recording the drums as i have other pres like FMR RNP for vocals etc.. so you reckon the behringer ada8000 is my best bet for recording 8 channels of drums ? or anyone out there got any other 8 channel pres they suggest for the quality are great but not over $500
