Pre-Recording Monitoring with DX effects?

I've discovered that none of the Sonic Foundry apps I own allow real time monitoring of effects prior to writing to disc.
Even when writing to disc you can't hear any effects assigned to the track. They only work on playback.

Are there any apps out there for the PC which are capable of pre-recording monitoring with DX effects?

The reason I ask is because I'm doing this computer DJ performance thing and I want to patch live guitar, keyboards, and maybe vocals through the computer as well. But over the course of a 1 hour set I'd rather not be filling up my hard drive. Also, I have all these expensive plugins and I rather not have to buy expensive outboard gear too. Any ideas?

Thanks,

I've discovered that none of the Sonic Foundry apps I own allow real time monitoring of effects applied to live sources prior to writing to disc.

Queue pointed out to me that n-track has this feature - which they nicely describe in their manual.:)
