Pre Amp

Ok i will be buying a Rode Nt1a condensor microphone, but i am clueless on wich pre amp to buy.. what would you all recommend? im not looking to spend more then $300 for the preamp

A used Groove Tubes Brick is a good match for that mic. For less, look at the VTB-1 or a Joe Meek channel strip.

As they say, "...For a little bit more...."

The Grace Design 101 might be worth a look. Prices have dropped on that unit. It would really help if you could hear any or all of pre-amps that interest you.

A friend of mine took a trip to Indiana to listen to specific gear at Sweetwater. You might check out any vendors "near" you.
