I own a Groove Tubes Brick, and like it. The problem is that I have rarely been able to use it on drums because it is only one channel. I use two RODE pencil condensers for drum overheads, and a SM 57 Beta on the snare. (I do not play the kick at the same time in the studio, only when playing live. I use my Rode NT1 when recording the kick.) Therefore, I am thinking that a two-channel preamp would be best, since at most I will only be recording three mics at once. Also, I would prefer something that could be used for other things as well, like acoustic guitar, or even guitar amps. I was considering the firepod, but I don’t think that I need eight channels. Is there something that would have two better quality preamps for the same price as the firepod, or does it not make a difference when I am at this low price range? Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.

For $500, you can pretty nice pres. Grace 101 is really nice for its price. If you want dual channel, check out the FMR RNP.
