I want to record a demo cd of our band... And I thought, there is a powered mixing desk(8+1stereo... the whole shit.. spirit powerstation 600 by soundcraft) and I've got cubase on my pc so why not do it myself....

There is only one thing that worry's me... Can I use a poweramp whithout speakers connected to it? I can turn down the poweramp level... but maybee it will get overheated?

Is this possible??

Ore are there other possibilities.

This mixer will work fine. Just hook up some passive speakers and go. If you already have sopme powered monitors use them on a buss or aux out and you should be fine.

If you want to know if the amp needs a set of speakers connected to it...no.

No speakers that was the idea... got speakers enough to connect, that's not the problem...

But without speakers i've got to turn the poweramp level down or something? I mean poweramps usualy need a load. Like a couple of 8 Ohm speakers or something. And I haven't got a dummy load.

And if it works without speakers (and the poweramp level down), won't the thing burn out because of internal heat?

Psy

thnx for the reply btw!
