Power plug adaptor

Hi all,
The power adaptor - 9volt/ 1.4 amp - on my RNP has just broke.
Does anyone know of any UK stockists; I see plenty of 1 amp adaptors but not 1.4 amps. [Does it actually have to be 1.4 amps?].

The amount of power needed is dictated by the device itself, read the manual to see what it needs. If the adapter does not provide sufficient power, the device may not power up or may have problems as its power input section tries to draw what it needs.

Thanks for the advice.
Having just read the manual, I've decided to choose the safe option and buy the genuine part.
Id hate to end up pennywise/pound foolish by frying the device!
