a friend of mine recently gave me an old crown powertech 3.1 he had sitting in his garage. this is the first upgrade to a rack system for me, as ive usually played on a combo. i do not know what to turn the 2 knobs on the front to, and sometimes i get a massive feedback disaster coming through my mixer which i do not know where it is coming from. can anybody hlep me out here?

The 2 knobs on the front are volume (channel 1 and channel 2) how do you have it hooked up. What are you using for a preamp? what are you using for a cabinet?

my preamp is a 6 channel alesis mixer, and the cabinet is 2 speakers and a horn. i is set up to run mono through the amps.

So are you bridging the amp, or just running one side for mono? Anyway, the feedback problem is just because you have more power. An eq might help.

So...you're using this as a PA?

Make sure the mics are behind the speakers..having them where the mic picks up the sound from the speakers creates feedback loops.

What are your speakers and amps rated at as far as RMS and Peak watts?
