Post recording question...

Hey all
I have just recorded drums (Yamaha Hi-Lite) for a song, but need a few post recording pointers.
I used 8 mics on a four peice kit as follows:
Kick (inside) AKG D112
Kick (front, by beater) Audix D-6
Snare (top) Sm-57
Snare (bottom) Sennheiser E609
Rack Tom Shure sm98a
Floor Tom Shure sm98a
Overheads (m, s) Shure Ksm32 and Octavia 319

I beleive I need to flip the phase on the mic under the snare, but do I need to do the same for the kick?
Thanks
Lee.

Usually (and I stress usually), if you have to diaphrams pointed towards each other you need to reverse the phase of one. Use your ear, though. If you listen to one mic and it sounds good, then add the other mic and something disappears or gets quiter, yes, they are out od phase.

Normally you would flip the phase on any mics that face either up, or toward the kit from the front - so the kick drum, and underneath the snare-since the reast of the mic's are aimed at the top of the kit.
