Ok here is the full situation...

We are looking at purchasing a warehouse approx 2200 square feet large however, the location is in the flight path for the nearby airport. How hard is it going to be to isolate the plane's noise that are flying overhead? We have approxamately 50k to build the studio within this space that we have . The space is approx 65ft by 25ft. The roof is approx 23 ft tall. Basically we want to build a cocoon within the warehouse. What are your thoughts???

Thanks in advance.

Daniel

Depends on the size of the Jet and the proximity.

A 757 on a landing approach vector is going to differ highly from an oldschool training plane at 200ft altitude.

Neither can be done for your budget if you intend to use the entire space; figure at least $60-75 per square foot if you DIY, and 2-3 TIMES that much if you hire it done (correctly, I hope) - so for $50k you MIGHT be able, under the best circumstances, to enclose just under 1000 square feet. Your entire space is more like 1625 sq ft, which would cost more like $97,500 to $270K to do well enough so you aren't bothered by the flight path... Steve

$50K????

Save yourself $30K and build elsewhere (ANYWHERE not under a >>160db AIRPLANE<<<<).....
