Possible new computer, what say you guys?

I am thinking of selling my UAD-1 card and going with that computer set up, what'cha ya think? I want to overclock, I will be getting a cpu heatsink/fan combo from SVC along with some artic silver in addition to what is listed if I do this. How is that power supply? Is it quiet? Is there something cheaper in power supplies that I should look at? I just want a power supply that will be quiet and semi future proof. The processor listed seems to be a overclocking dream, will the RAM listed keep up? I have a PATA hard drive and a DVD/CDRW that I will keep, case I will keep....I have a ??400Watt?? Antec (could be 350) power supply now, but its kind'a noisy, and getting old, has to be 7 years old???.

I have built 5-8 (I lost count) computers but none really in the last 5 years, except for getting a new but USED processor and motherboard and RAM in the last month, but that was a stop gap measure till I got more funds, and the Home Theater PC is needing a make over, poor guy down there is still running a PIII 700MHz overclocked to 933MHz with 512megs of PC133 ram.

Anyways, those are Newegg prices...

Looks good to me.

Overclocking won't be necessary, and will void any warranty.
 
any chance its a uad-1e? as in pci express?
 
If you can, wait until spring. Intel's supposed to drop their prices all across the board and raise all FSB's on all chips.

I have overclocked every system that I have built, ever since the Celeron 300MHz could go to 450MHz, chips fail in the first hours of use if they are gonna fail, unless the motherboard or power supply take it with them when they fail.

BTW, I hadn't looked at the reviews of that power supply till after I posted last night, not looking so good, gonna need to find a different one.

I might be selling if Justin (Reapers main man) can't get Reaper and the UAD-1 to play nice together, cause right now, you can't have more then a few tracks in Reaper with UAD-1 plugs before the tracks with UAD-1 plugs on them start munching away at your main CPU, not the chip on the UAD-1 card, but you your main cpu, 40% cpu usage for one track with one UAD-1 plug is about the worst I have seen.

Anyways I am sending him my UAD-1 card on Monday, if he can't get it working in three weeks or so he is gonna send the card back, and I am gonna sell it, we just kind'a made that deal today. But if he gets it working as it should be .05% CPU used for UAD-1 plugs then I am keeping everything as is, and not selling it, or upgrading my PC.

Or unless they get too hot.
 
An Intel C2D won't get very hot when reasonably overclocked.
OCZ ram is warrantied(sp?) even when overclocked / over voltaged (to a point). They are actually designed for it.
 
yeah, OCZ allows an overclock if your using no more than their maximum voltage settings I think it was. The 6400 is/was a great canidate for overclocking. With stock cooling, one can easily take it to 2.6 to 2.8ghz. That's from what tomshardware.com says.
