I was in Florida last year and I coulda sworn I saw something similar at GC with a guitar pickup as well. It was a knockoff of a seymour duncan but was named very similar.

The (still developing) story is http://debris.com/journal/1274

I bought some MC012s and ran to check them out as I thought, after reading this thread, that they were fakes. They are real! But the strange thing about my story is the reciept. It said "Gitar Centrer" on it. I do believe that the place I got them was a fake Guitar Center!

Please be careful.

I believe that would be the Seymour Buttz brand :D

I bought a pair from GC early last year. Each came in a little black plastic box, with the -10dB pad, cardioid capsule, serial number in the right place, Russian paperwork... except they have "Oktava MK-012-01" in black lettering on the side - not "OkraBa". So do I have a false positive on the fakes?

Maybe...Ian Mckay? Ok I'll shut up.

Ian Mckay.... I think I knew of an Ian Mckay once. As I recall there was also a Danny....

This is still up in the air. For all I know, Oktava could have changed some of their Mk 012s. I didn't write this. I just found it interesting.

I bought a matched pair of Oktava 012-01's off thomann, and look exacly like the pic. Could they be a fake?
