I've got both Sonar and Pro Audio 9 and I work mostly with audio. Exporting and or inserting audio waves at times causes the position slider to behave eratically. I often use it to get around a recording alot quicker.

But on some of my work the slider does'nt work properly. One can set a recording to it's beginning, click play and the slider defaults to the center and never moves even if one lets the recording reach its end....

Has anyone ever experianced this?

Yes, I've had the same problem. For me it turned out to be my videocard that caused the problem. I updated the driver, and everything went back to normal...

HHHHMMmmmm......that's strange.
It happens on both my computers and they both have the latest drivers available to them. (One has an ATI All In Wonder Pro 32MB and the other has an Nvidia Geforce).

Well at least I know I'm not alone  Any others out there with this problem?

Try to turn down the Hardware Acceleration on your video-card, mabey that helps (Rightclick on desktop -> Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshooting).

......made no differance on either of the computers.....

Well now I see what gets the slider working...... For some reason, (and this is only seems to be with audio not MIDI), Sonar/Pro-Audio's slider will only begin to work after one insert's more than 4 audio tracks. This is strange!

Recently I had begun to work with this one recording that had 4 audio tracks that I had recorded converted from MIDI and the slider did'nt work very well. Yesterday, I inserted a 5th track and all of a sudden, BINGO!....the slider works again.

Anyway, now I know that things start to happen after 4 tracks with audio........wierd dudes...really wierd...

It will also happen if you have volume envelopes assigned to your tracks.
