Hey Guys, i'm new to this forum so please bare with me (and i'm English!).... so anyway.

What i want it a portable recording suite.... a good laptop + good i/o interface + good pre-amps + the ability to record 8+ XLR tracks at any one time. I'm not bothered about outbound mixing (i.e 24 out i/o interface) as i can do all that via software on a pc (with a little patience!).

Anyway, i was looking at:

http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/d2/pa.../category_id/aa5045ac8dbda1110af5783d9c9b8f89

however i have been told that it is not expandable in it's i/o's. I assume Firewire is the better option especially when a laptop is concerned.

I was hoping to get the Aardvark Direct Q10 but they do not do a laptop version.

Can anyone help??

Sound like what I want to.
I prefer to MOTU 896HD. How about Aardvark?

Guys, i'm consfused. There is a Motu 896 and an 896HD. What is the difference and why is the 896 more expensive?
