I'm planning on building a portable computer based DAW. I'm looking for a few more ideas on how to make it road worthy without busting the bank.
First thing it has to be rack mounted. I seen rack mount cases somewhere for like $130 without a PSU.
Next the keyboard has to be rack mounted so that simple enough just pickup a rackmount drawer.
Gota lose the big ugly CRT, 15" LCD's are getting cheeper. And to put it in the rack just a drawer with a bit of foam for protection, for use it will be taken out and put on top of the rack.
Throw in two or three delta 1010lts and a patch bay(so you can leave the rca to 1/4" plugged in and to make repatching easier) and I'm all set. I usually rent a 32 channel mackie or allen and heath board and a split from the sound company doing the PA system.
Any one got any other ideas on making a PC portable?
