porta studio!

Do any of you fine folks have a portable studio......one that can travel to any room you find suitable to record in?
In all my travels I've come across some fine living rooms with killer acoustics. I always say to myself, "this room would sound great to track drums or vocals in!"
I have this $30,000 concept in my head, which includes a g4 Titanium, three small padded racks and a flight case full of connector cables. Oh and there's also the microphone case.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Is the concept feasable?

Tah......Hitman.

$30,000 eh?? why not.....spend $10K on a AW4416, some mikes etc and then you've got $20K left to pay off the neighbours and the Noise Pollution Police :):)

cheers

With your budget you might as well throw in a nice truck :)

I would get a top of the line laptop and an 8 channel firewire interface or two from MOTU. Throw in some neve or other high end preamps and your all set.

Mackie has a new control surface that's about the right size for this setup.

You could put it all in an skb rack a drawer with some foam would make a nice place to put the laptop.

It's not my budget actually, and I have a couple trucks, thank you.
Nice ones too!. with cd players even.
To which mackie board are you refering?
