Pops in Ntrack with Low CPU?

Hey, guys. As most of you probably already know I am very new to this. I have a dilema. I'm getting pops?(blank spots) in ntrack, with very little cpu usage, with only one or two tracks.

Is there some blatantly obvious thing that I should be doing/not doing? It's done this with plugins on and off.

I don't know anything about setting my preferences, or any thing like that. I don't really know where to start. Any suggestions that you guys could dgve me about how to get set up would definately be appreciated.

First thing, is your hard drive fast enough?...

How many tracks are we talking about when it happens?...how many DX/VST effects?.....

first suggestion is to go into file/preferences/buffering and crank them all to max....if that helps youll be on the right track....

You buffer size is probably too small. If you are using ASIO, change them in the soundcard's control pannel. Otherwise, go to preference - buffers as stated above.

Okay. I don't even know enough to know if my hard drive is fast enough.I'll tell you what I know I've got.

I have an HP 1G CPU
128MgsRAM
40G hard drive with about 35 left.

Is that fast enough?

In response to Gidge I've only been running 1 or 2 tracks,with maybe 2,or 3 plugins. But I'm pretty sure that it has done it, with the plugins off.

I'll try what you guys suggested.

Are you still using the n-tracks demo? If so n-track compressor plugins mute every 10 seconds untill you register.

Also, like Slackmaster2K said in the set-up thread, don't add or remove Blueline plugins during playback (this helped me). I would not add or remove any plugins during playback and see if that helps.
