Hi I'm a newbie to HR. I'm setting up my studio and I've run into a problem now that I finally have monitors. I have a Presonus Firepod and I've just bought a pair of Wharfedale Diamond Pro 8.2a monitors. Some songs sound great on them, like "have a cigar", but others are giving me a popping sound during playback. This seems the worst when I hve my mp3 player hooked to my system.
While I have a fast CPU, AMD Athlon 64 FX 55, I've tried setting CPU to medium and slow. I've also tried upping the latency. These haven't worked. I used headphones before I got the monitors and I don't remember this when I used them.
Any suggestions? Could it be the monitors? The cables? The electrical boxes?
