Hey, I'm in the middle of mixing an EP for these guys: http://www.nothingmore.net

Here's a sample and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for the mix?

My major qualms are the vocals, they sound a little thin, but the band keeps telling me to turn them down. How can you improve the sound of the vox while they are still so low? any ideaaaars would be appreciated.

Here's the tune:

I think the reason they want the vocal turned down is because the guy can't stay in tune for more than two words at a time. When somebody hits a bad note and then holds it, it's pretty obvious.

The rest of the mix sounded ok to me. Nice musicianship. But the singer...

The band is great. Great musicianship.
The vocals sound a bit on the quiet side to me. And I think that maybe it's some of the melody choices that are not quite working so well. Not that I could do any better at all: it is complex music to sing over.

Could the singer come back and do some layering, maybe?
What about making them a bit more wet ala verb or delay?
Just some ideas.
