pole spacing on pickups...

I did a search which didn't help, and I know I've had the answer in my head before, anyways...Are there not different spacing on the pickups for the poles. I thought once I read that Fender's (because of bridge?) strings are spaced differently than other guitars like Gibson. I'm looking to put some SD's on a tele style body so I'm just looking for info on this. Thanks!

Generally, aftermarket humbuckers to fit a Fender (or fender style) guitar will be called "F" Spaced.

Also, there is a difference in spacing between neck pickups and bridge pickups, hence Gibsons nomenclature of R or T pickups (rythm, treble)

F spaced pickups are also for guitars with floyd rose bridges.
