I'm a long-time Cakewalk guy, I like and use it for my personal music stuff.
I received an MBox2 which comes with ProToolsLE. Essentially what we do is create a radioshow that we pre-record and air on a couple of radio stations in NY. We also make the show available as a podcast.
Anyway, I'm a newbie with ProTools and find something odd. When I import a ripped song (WMA format) into a track in PT it looks like it imports fine. When I go to play it back in ProTools, one of the channels (usually the right) doesnt play back. What I do to remedy this is to import the song into a track, which seperates the song into left and right channel, kill the stereo track then add in the left channel into 1 track and then the right channel into a 2nd track.
This doesn't really seem like the correct way to do this. When I use Sonar it works every time. Is there something that I'm missing? [the documentation that I got with PT-LE is really lacking]
