Is there any advantage going with a POD pro over and XT. All I can see is the rack mount and the XLR outputs. The XT seems to have more power as far as modeling, effects and upgrading.
i BELIEVE that the POD PRO has SPDIF digital outputs (the XT has some sort of USB connection) and the PRO has an external effects send/return. i don't think the PRO is worth the cash.
KEEP THIS IN MIND,...although the XT is the "newest" POD,..there are many users who PREFER the sound of the POD 2.3 OVER the newer POD XT. read these reviews before you decide. cheers.
just have to throw the opposite. i find the 2.3 artificial and the xt to be much more realistic sounding. i have a friend that has the 2.3 and i never bought one because his sounded, well, cheesy. anyway, when the xt came out, i tried it and instantly bought one. i am using it only for direct recording. i think most of the people that are complaining about the sound are trying to run it through a combo amp or something. directly recording and direct into a pa system, this unit sounds killer.
Well guys, I bought a 2.0 and the large floorboard for $179 at a used guitar shop. At that price I couldn't turn it down. I can always sell it on ebay if it doesn't work out. I will be playing with it a good bit over the weekend and making my mind up about it.
A lot of people don't like the xt as compared to the POD 2. I will say this: I own both, and now that that I have the xt, I don't feel like I will ever use the disclaimer "I recorded these guitars with an amp modeler" again. I don't think anybody will be able to tell.
hey JustStartin'.....
for $179 you got yerself one HADES of a deal. can't go wrong for the price. give Line 6 a call ASAP,..odds are they'll send you the 2.3 chip for free.
congrats on a GREAT buy!
p.s. hey Charger,
i've read that the XT provides more accurate CLEAN signals. is this true??
ALSO,..can you "chain" multiple effects in ANY order you choose??? just curious. i've yet to plug into the XT. cheers.
hey J.S.O.,
i've tweaked the POD since it's inception. version 2.3 is definitely the best. i don't know what Line 6 did,..but they managed to SMOOTH out alot of the tones in the presets. they aren't "less aggressive" by any means,....they just are more pleasing to the ear. you'll be happy with the upgrade. cheers.
Actually, I don't really need anymore cheer....had enough wine and cogniac for an army tonight....just jammin now.....Cranking up the twin reverb and the sg and going nuts on it....Hope the neighbors don't mind
