I recently placed a "wanted to buy" ad for a used Pod Pro on another website. I was contacted by a gentleman that said he had one like new for $325 shipped to my door. This seems a little too good to be true. Am I getting ready to lose $325?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I dont know the difference between Line 6 Pod version
2 and Pod Pro, but the first one costs $319 at
one store.
Of course, will the guy send the Pod? One never
knows

New POD Pro's cost about $600....yes, he's ripping you off. My advice is to buy the regular one for $325-350 new and get a warranty.

i just purchased a POD Pro at Guitar Center in Atlanta for $525. the best i've seen on the WEB is $550, if my memory serves, at Sweetwater.

maybe he is tying to sell you the Pod version 2
instead of pod Pro?

I've decided to take a chance. I sent the money order today.

I've bought about 90% of my gear used over the internet, except my guitar. Thus far, I've not been burned.

The list:
Mesa/Boogie Subway Rocket Amp
Boss NS-2
Boss GE-7
Boss CS-3
Boss DD-5
Boss CE-5
Vox Wah
Zoom 505
Behringer 802 Mixer

I realize that something does not sound right but am willing to take a chance. I got the amp listed for about $250 less than it would have cost me new (it was 8 months old when I bought it and is in excellent condition). I only live a few hundred miles from this guy, so, if push comes to shove, I could get in the car (I know where he works!)... :)

If (no when!) this goes through, I'll be sure to resurrect this thread.

An update...

I received an email confirming the item has shipped with a valid tracking number. The weight of the package is listed as around 12lbs. Does this seem right?

So far so good.

What are these POD things you guys talk about? I feel like Im left out of the club. Is it for recording guitar without an amp? jIM

The Verdict...

The verdict...

It arrived by UPS about an hour ago. Initial reaction: Wow!

It is still in the original packaging--the tape has not been broken on the owner's manual/electrical cable pouch. Not a scratch on it. I hooked it up through the power amp of my M/B Subway Rocket and played around a little. Pretty damned impressive. I have checked all the dials/connections/etc. that I can and they all appear to be working.

So...yes...I did buy a Pod Pro (List $799, Retail $599, Used $475+/-) for $325 shipped in mint condition. Anyone want to buy it for $500? Hee, hee, hee!

For the fellow that was asking about the Pod, check it out at: http://www.line6.com

It was mailed from a large music store in Ohio. The fellow works there. His story is that he ordered a Bass Pod Pro and received the Pod Pro by mistake. He received the Bass Pod Pro shortly thereafter and was having trouble returning (?) the former. Doesn't matter to me. I got a great deal and am feeling pretty fortunate right about now.

boogie, I live in Ohio. Give the name of the store,
so I can get amazing deal too. Congrats, David

It was shipped from the store, but was not store bought. Apparently, this guy brought it in from home and sent it out with UPS. This was bought from an individual, not a store. Offering up the name of the store will not get you a deal like this. This is a fluke. I'm just glad to be down on the good side of the deal. It's rare.

Just wanted to provide a further update.

The only thing I noticed wrong with the Pod Pro was that there was not serial number on it. I assume a sticker is affixed in the upper right hand corner on the back (under the words "serial number").

I contacted the person from whom I bought the item, and he faxed me the original invoice with the serial number on it. I was then able to register the item with Line 6 as he had never taken it out of the box.

This thing is still pretty cool. Go buy one and add it to your arsenal.
