Pod -> 1604 Vpro Aux

I can list connections yada yada .. why when it is apparent to me that.. it simply doesn't work! hahahaha

Anyone ever had success using POD with mackie aux send/ret.

im thinking the aux send return is gonna put a line level signal thru it, but im really confused at this point....i dont that this is the optimal situation for a amp modeling device......id go straight into the recorder from the POD.....
 
so are you trying to be slick and use the POD as an fx box?

are you doing this so that you can use the POD on more than one track at a time?

if so, make sure that the aux send on the channel is up, and the aux input and output levels for the aux itself are turned up.

if not, then why aren't you using the POD as an insert? get a Y cable and put the TRS side of the cable into the mackie for the desired channel, and plug the In/Out 1/4 ends of the Y cable into the approprite out/in 1/4 female recepticles on the POD.
 
I used a POD as an effect on an accordion once... signal went from Direct out on the channel -> POD -> Aux return Right -> Main. So the original signal was panned hard left, and the PODed signal was panned hard right. verrry cool sound!!
 
i love my J-Station because i can go in with a siganl and come out with a clean stereo sound AND a stereo channel with effects simultaneously....lots fo options at mixdown.....
 
I've not done it with a Mackie, but I run my bass Pod off an aux send on my VS1680 all the time and I've NEVER had a problem...

Handy Pod hint: If you've recorded a live (mic'd) bass, then record a DI track at the same time, and take a feed from the DI and patch it into a bass Pod set on the "Subdub" preset. Whack the compression right up, mix to taste and wa-hey! Huge, deep, CONTROLLABLE bass which doesn't compromise the player's original sound. I'm aware that this should cause all manner of phase and comb-filtering problems due to the latency of the Pod, but in all honesty I've never noticed any.
 
I'm using my POD 2.0 in the effects loop of a mackie 1202VLZ Pro, works just fine...

A few things to check would be to make sure the EFX 1 Master is at Unity Gain,
Switch set to "post" (So it follows the gain controls of the channel you are using on the Mixer)

Also make sure that channel's efx send is turned up, at least to U So you can hear it.
EFX to monitor should be off for the time being

Are you connecting in stereo?
If not, Make sure you are using both the Left output of the POD into the Left AUX Ret. on the mackie.

Also make sure the levels on the POD itself are up, since optimally the Output Level on the POD is supposed to be Line Level when set to max.
