I was just wondering...

I sent my mic's in to PMI for some warranty work about the 1st of the year. I still don't have them back. Several emails and a call have all been handled fairly well, but still no mic's.

After 10 weeks, should I be getting a little peaved?

Why don't you fucking address PMI with this question? Do you think any of us gives a shit?

(1) I guess you missed the part where I said I did address them

-and-

(2) If someone is thinking about buying or bought a mic that would be serviced by them (say Studio Projects?) they might care.

nonetheless, your colorful expressions and intelligence are most amusing.

Man you're an idiot. Your posts are becoming less and less usefull, and you're becoming more and more rude.

Now to the original poster. Go over to gearslutz.com. Now this may be wrong because sometimes I get names confused but I believe Alan Hyatt is one of the guys that works for PMI and I know some other guys that work there are on that board. So go over and try them out. At the very least post something in the Moan Zone with PMI Audio in the title.

Looks like another asshole poll needs to be started.. :D :D :D :D

What the fuck makes you think any of the guys over there are going to give two shits more than any of the guys over here?

Jee-sus H Christ, guys. This is not the Tech Support board for any of the mic companies. And neither is gearslutz, last time I checked.

At least you handle a dick well. Props to you for that.

Actually, Alan Hyatt does not work for PMI, he owns it.

As for the original question, PMI has their own forum. It would be the most appropriate to post it there:

http://www.pmiaudio.com/forums/

Maybe they won't help but being a complete dick isn't called for either. Lighten up man. You've been nothing but an asshole lately. Doesn't mean I don't think some of the useless shit you spout isn't funny, it is, but this guy just asked a question and deserved a decent response, whether its helpful or not.

Actually Jesus middle name started with "o"

Hell, I'd call PMI, tell them you have an ongoing service problem, and ask for Justin Hyatt. Bad or delayed service from PMI is unusual. I also agree that Chessrock was unecessarily hard on you. I, for one, *do* give a shit, but I am clear on the concept that Chessrock doesn't. You handled it very well. Welcome to the board.-Richie

I care. I've been to the PMI offices. I'm pretty sure there repair work is done at another fascility. Alan and Justin may not be aware of the delay, but could help tighten the screws of the repair dept. They are probably falling behind, or are done and it's in shipment back to you. I don't know how far away you live, but I would count this way: 1 week for shipping, 8 weeks waiting for repair, 1 week back seems reasonable. Anything beyond that needs an explanation.

I've also been to the MXL offices in El Segundo where they DO the repairs in house. They also get swamped, but do their best. I can see how PMI might get swamped as well.

A polite email would probably bear some good fruit.

Caramel-coated Christ on a Pogo Stick ...

You guys aren't a bunch of sissy China Dolls.

Quit acting like you're going to be mortified for life, all because I was mean to you. :D Toughen up. This is the mic forum. No wussies allowed.

This is how a properly formed question gets answered here? I would be a little upset about it taking 10 weeks so far, with no definitive end in sight to the time it will take. That being said, there may be a reason, but it had better be a good one to take that long. I would continue to contact PMI or whomever it is that you are supposed to contact. I do not view this is a thread with intent to slander or bash PMI, Studio Projects or any other company. If there warranty covers things, but takes that long, than people should know about it. As long as there are some supporting facts and an actual goal in mind, a thread like this seems completely legitimate and appropriate to me.

I'm sorry. I must have missed the sign that said:

"PMI Customer Service Forum. Please post product complaints or customer service issues related to PMI product HERE."

For some reason, I thought this was the mic forum at homerecording.com . Boy, do I feel dumb. Please excuse me. I'll be more careful next time.

This is what happens when you buy your meds online from Canada :)

I think you may have missed the sign that said "microphones" at the header for this forum. This question indeed does relate to microphones. If there is any question concerning PMI and their service of microphones that they sell this most certainly is the correct forum for addressing any questions and issues concerning them. Especially since it was done tastefully and tactfully in a non condescending or accusatroy way. Which byt the way is not true of your reply Chessrock.

Well its certainly doesn't say "Chessrock's Forum" either so when an admin wants to come in and tell the original poster he's wrong then thats fine but you aren't the admin. So if you don't like the post don't freakin respond to it.

Alright. Using your chain of logic, then ...

... Let's suppose that my cat has gastro-intestinal problems.

And unfortunately, those gastro-intestinal problems lead my can to shit all over one of my brand new microphones.

Would it be appropriate for me to come on this board and start a thread entitled: "My Cat has Gastro-intestinal problems. What should I do about it?"

Would that be appropriate? It relates to mics, doesn't it? I mean, the damn cat just crapped all over my mic collection, so I suppose using your chain of logic, the mic forum at homerecording.com has just become a very relevent source of information regarding feline gastro-intestinal disorders.
