Hi All,

I know neither are the ones I want to grow old with, but for now, is there a concensus as to which is better to use?

Thanks!

2 different programs Sound forge is a Wave editing mastering suite while sonar is a Multitrack recorder..u can use both of them in conjunction with each other

Thanks,

Yes, I realize those differences, but both apps' plug-ins are available for use in Sonar. I was just wondering which group to opt for (i.e. SF verb vs. Sonar's etc...)

Don't take this wrong, but use your ears. It will probably vary from effect to effect. I personally find SF's chorus more suitable, but the delay may not be as functional for me as Sonar's. I would just take some time and experiment. It's well worth it.

Thanks SLuiCe,

Nothing taken wrong here : )

That's kind of what I figured. I just wanted to see if there was a clear winner between the two according to the HR gang. It looks like I have a date with some resident plug-ins. I'll take notes in case anyone's interested.

As previously posted, both programs are for different applications. An optimum configuration would be Sonar with Wavelab (instead of Sound Forge). This would give you an excellent mastering suite along with a very acceptable mixing set of tools.

If you want to push it all along further, using say Wave Gold with both programs would open up all sorts of possiblities:)
