Hello all, here's what's been troubling me lately. The other day, I tried to add some bass chorus to a bass line using a freeware plugin that I had downloaded form directxfiles dot com. However, for some reason (I suppose this started when I upgraded to win XP from 2k) some of the plugs were not working, so when I try to insert them in the FX spot a message came that I don't recall exactly what it said but something along the lines of, that plug is not working would you like Sonar to delete it... I figured, ok, let's delete all that are not working and then I'll reinstall them... but, the problem is, now that I've reinstalled the ones that I could (some of them were demos that I'm glad I could uninstall and some were freeware plugs that I could download again and reinstall them) they are not appearing in the audio effects view. Is there any way to arrange your audio effects?!! Like get rid of those you don't like or don't use of demos that have expired, and add them later if you wish to use them for a specific thing??!!!!

Thanks is advance, I'm sure moskus, James or dachay will have no problem answering once again, my probably dumb questions,

Carlos

No problem!

"Hints and tips" are made to be shared! :)

Carlos:

You might also want to get a copy of the DX Uninstaller. Many DirectX plugins remain in your registry even after you uninstall them. This program will uninstall them and clean the registry for you.

It's freeware. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see it.

You guys are the best!!! I can't thank you enough. One more quick Q if I may: I'm looking for the very "best" piano sf... I've tried a few that I downloaded from the sound site dot com and they're pretty neat, even the ones that "weight" over 25 mb's but still I'm not overjoyed by them. I tried downloading one that was about 250 or more MB's but my SB Live crashed trying to play anything using it... so I was wondering if you guys had any pointers?! I've had a Roland M-GS 64 for about 7 years now and for the first 5 I've had no complaints but now with Vienna SF editor I think I can do without it... still, I need to find a killer piano sound.

Hey Moskus BTW, I once had a girlfriend from Norway, when I lived in France back in '92. She was the loveliest thing from Stavanger but then I moved to Argentina and she moved back home... Her name is Kjersti and even though I'm happily married now, I still sometimes remember her everytime I read your location!!!! And I just thought I'd share that with you, and the cyber-cakewalk using-community.

The greatest piano soundfont can be found here :D, but I mostly use a soundfont called "piano42.sf2" which you will find at www.thesoundsite.net...

From Stavanger? Really? That's my hometown, you see. I'm actually in Trondheim now, but spending my vacations there. :)

Hey Moskus thanks for those pianos but I wasn't able to find the piano42.sf2 in the sound site... are you sure that's the sound font's name?!! thanks,
Carlos

Her name is Kjersti...

Was her name Kjersti Bakken
If so, then we both were so close to what's so called "Luckiest guys in the universe." :D

What's that, "Kjersti Bakken" and "The luckiest guy in the Universe"?

Nope, Kjersti Pedersen.
Did I say close... :D

The story began in Dec 1995. It was 5 AM in the morning, on the mountain top. Freezing winter cold and last night drunk. When I was...
