Hey everyone, newbie here! 2 part question...
I have this older mixing board, and currently I am using it to record voiceovers. There is only 1 output on the board for the head phone mix(its currently being used by the voice talent). Soon I am going to need to set up a mix needing two headphones (need to record 2 people simulataneusly)... My question is if I can use a splitter or something to make this possible on that one headphone output? or will I only get a mono signal if I do that...? I only have 2 auxiliarys on the board and they are being used by the e.q, and the tape deck.
My second question is that my compressor is currently going into an insert on the "recording channel" (channel 1). Since I am going to be setting up an additional mic, and recording 2 channels simultanesly, how can I get the compressor to work on both channels? Should I move it onto an auxillary channel?
THe compresor is a presonus bluemax. It has a L&R mono output and the back, and and 2 additional R outputs I believe...
I should mention there are no bussing/grouping options on my board.
Thanks so much for any input, I hope the questions above are somewhat clear...
