One year ago,me and my friends decided to make a home studio.And i need some advices becouse i want to make it good.I need your opinion for this:
Im making rap music,so i thought...should i buy mixer or usb sound card.Becouse in this kind of music,it doesn't need a lots of channels,a lots of people told me that i should use usb sound card becouse its cheapper,it's 2 in 1 and it finnish my job very good.But from another side,a lots of people too told me that the sound will be better with mixer.PLS HELP ME AND GIVE SOME ADVICE...

Ps:Is AKG C2000b Good for vocals???

No you would be better off with an a/d converter with preamps in it. And with the case of the AKG microphone you will need one that provides phantom power.

Do you mean mixer vs. USB/Firewire audio interface?

Most would probably recommend, given what you're planning, the latter, which is what moresound has suggested.

So that's an audio interface, not a soundcard.

As I said in the previous post, that's what moresound suggested. There are any number of posts in the Newbies forum about the best bang for buck for 2 channel audio interfaces. I haven't seen that particular one recommended yet, but these things not my area of strength...

Yes something like that but you can get a better unit for about the same price.
