Buckwheat Zydaco meets The Greatfull Dead.:D This actually pretty damn neat. I dig it. On the mix, bring the drums up. It just needs some ass (don't we all).

good entertainment value.

Not knowing what you'd be really happy with in the final mix, my suggestions would probably be out of line. Therefore, the only thing that comes to mind is the different instrument volume levels seem skewed compared to each other...and in comparision to the vocals. Kinda like a "plug in and play"...and whoever is loudest wins the dinner tab!... Not sure if I'd like the hiss sound on the final note/fadeout either.

yep the drums lost the volume wars. i tried really hard to bring em up a little but when i started doubling tracks they didnt get a double and some other stuff got louder while they didnt.

i had the track normalled and the fader maxed so i figured it was god's will... a lot of older music has the drums down like that so it fits in with my "stuck in the past" image!

all suggestions are welcome!!!! bear in mind that im not striving for perfection but i will try anything out on the next thing!

it was the drum machine again so the snare sounds lousy anyway. i lowered the level for the rolls and it sounded good that way soloed but in the mix it would have been better the other way.

the relative levels seem to change from mixdown thru soundforge to mp3. im still trying to get used to it...

theres hiss on the final note?????? i didnt hear it!!! you must have good speakers! hahahahahahaha. the final note goes longer than id like but my fading prgrm is primitive and its hard to get the fades i want.

thanks tr
mkg what does that mean?
mixmkr thanks... what was too loud the fake accordion? i was so happy with the way it turned out! i may have boosted it too much!

:)

I'm feeling a total Violent Femmes kind of feel here. The accordian is a nice touch.

This has a cool groove to it...kinda different, but sounds cool enough.

The only mixing advice I might give may be to raise the drums a bit. They sound a little buried.

Nice job overall.

probably....but they did turn out grand.... good job on them. I'da probably done the same thing. Chicks dig to polka!!!;)

Another fun song. I liked that Beach Boys sounding rhythm guitar part. Vocals were filled with great rhymes. Real fun listen.

Kind of falls off the cliff at the end though.

Good work.

jeap, bon temps mon ami=good time, my friend!

whew!

i was afraid it meant "i threw my back out and im suing you for damages!"

boydrj the snare sounded like a bad handclap so i wanted it down but not THAT much. it should be louder! i was sure i had it louder than that at mixdown!

mixmkr - you got it! i really wanted an uptempo dance thing and the accordion is a natural for that. ive never tried to emulate an accordion before so i had to imagine what both hands would be doing. accordion players are cut some slack at fast tempos so i left a little slop in there for authenticity!

i had to get this out of my system. i can tell what appeals to the most ppls is a more sophisticated late-night kind of sound.

thanks 3m i am proudest of "you said you wasnt gaudy you said you was a homebody you said you wasnt a flirt" cause homebody wasnt in the rhyming dictionary!

i even put inner rhymes in!

it was fun to make and i proved i can do uptempo! 160 bpm!

:)

fun tune..

drums and vocals seemed buried at times...

nice accordian.. I usually hate that sound, but I like it here.

Great tune- Just loved the mood of the whole thing-uptempo music with those laid back vocals- I agree with others that the drums could come up, but the idea and mood of the song comes across regardless. Sounds like you guys would be a fun band to see...Thanks for the tune!

yes i agree! we would be a fun band to see IF WE WERE A REAL BAND!!!

its just me pretending to be a band! i thought up the name a long time ago and i couldnt think of anything better so im the rolling dingleberries!

the drums are more buried than i wanted them to be...

when i first heard the accordion sound on my keyboard i thought no thats not so good. i wasnt ever going to use it. but i heard a commercial with accordion and it reminded me of a cajun tune i heard so i had to do it!

thanks srtomstr and sabs!

somehow i cant sound anything but laid back when i sing...

maybe if i had some weed...

:p

Ya!
Pass me some of that cajun stew!

I always wanted to try some zydeco music,it's got such a great upbeat sound to it!

Guess I'll have to look at my casio keyboard and see if it has an accordian patch!:D

Really great job,Jeap.
Your voice fits it perfect.
Sounds like there's a band in the house!

Best to you,
Pete

aiyeeeeeeeee!

i stomped around nawlins for a while and its an interesting place to be sure!

i even went to the french quarter and heard some of the bands there.

the french quarter is very small and the streets and businesses and everything are very small too.

i listened to the cajun dialect and found it to be entertaining.

then i went to waveland mississippi...

thanks muzeman i appreciate it! i could do a fats domino triplet thing! i could do jockomo!

the local library has some cajun stuff and i made copies. i also got some off napster while it lasted. i like some of the stuff so much im sure i could do ten tunes at least and still have lots of ideas for stuff. oh well theres a vibrato guitar thing burning a hole in my head too...

THE DR SAMPLE ARRIVED TODAY AND IT DOES MORE THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD. IT SYNCS TO AND IS TRIGGERED BY A DRUM MACHINE!!!

this will change everything!

:)
