Hi my name is Brian I'm 21, and play guitar. Mark is 22, sings, and plays guitar. Together we are starting a band we both take very seriously and would like to get an opinion on our sound. We play rock and our main influences include Story of the Year, and Killswitch Enagage. We have four of our songs posted at www.myspace.com/markchalkerandbrianuso Please if any of you have the time listen and tells us what you think. We would love to get your comments and criticisms. Thanks.

Listened to A Falling Out. There is a lot of energy and passion in the words and music. That really shows and makes the song interesting and enjoyable.
Drums and bass would definitely help but I get the idea quite well with what you've laid down. The recording is not bad, could use a bit more consistency in the volume of the vocals - maybe compress them and bring them up in the mix. The vocals sound a bit distorted at times. Good writing, singing and playing.
If Time Wore Thin - more good guitar playing/singing. Same nits on the vocals but like the tune too...

yep no problem with the music(reminded me a bit of silverchair), just couldn't make out a word of the vocal.

The audio definetly is not the best due mostly to the amateur setup we got going on. I've posted the lyrics on the page for those who want to know what they are. Thanks for the comments so far. Please, keep them coming. We love to hear what other musicians think of our sound.

yep... I agree with that... get yourself a band together :)

I listened to the first 20 bars or so of all four. I liked "Second Chance" and the vox are understandable enough. The listener still has to work at it but it shouldn't always be easy. The other three need the vox up front. Either more level on the vox track, compression, use panning to create room down the center for the vocals, etc. (Pretty much what everyone else said.)

It's very hard in your genre to get by without bass and drums. That combo would also make it easier to drop the guitars a bit, again, making more room for the vox.

The songs are great and I like the sound of your voice. Your next tasks are to find a bassist and drummer and to work on your recording technique. Of course, this is jmho and I don't have any million sellers out there either. :D I have been at it for a long time though.....

Good stuff.. Find yourself a good rythm section and the songs will come on strong. Good luck to ya

I liked it...it's really my type of music. Keep up the good work!

Thank you all for the positive feedback. It means a lot to us that other musicians like our sound. We are currently recording some more songs so hopefully we can post those soon. Thanks.
