I am looking for something like the TASCAM US 244:

** Level control over 4 channels
** At least 2 channel Inputs that include
- XLR with phantom power
- 1/4"
** It serves as a soundcard (basically it will replace my M-Audio MobilePre)
- Headphone output
- L&R 1/4" outs
I think the only different from the 244 is the Phantom Power.

I want to record acoustic guitars with condenser mics (hence de Ph P.)
1/4 for my Keyboard and my PODxt
Level controls to control automation in Cubase

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Alex

JF? Firepod has no faders and will not serve as a control surface. Tascam has other control surfaces. Behringer has some cheap ones. I can't vouch for their quality though.

Seems like the Firepod is his solution to everything. :p

Anyways, Alex for phantom power you could pick up an external pre and run it into the line in on the 224. It really seems like the perfect interface for you. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there are any other interfaces at that PP that will give you everything that you're asking for.

Thanks guys.... how is the latency compared the the M-Audio MobilePre...?

I have 4ms with my MobilePre... is TASCAM better? I know NOTHING about them. :)

Firepod+BCF2000.... Much better than Tascam! (much expensive too, i know)

Have you ever even used anything other than your Firepod before? If so, please enlighten me about the wonders of it, and why it is better than Tascam . I actually took the Firepod for a test drive myself and thought it was quite good, but it did not suit my needs ;) . Which brings me to my point, he only needs something to record four tracks at most. I highly doubt he's gonna use eight mics to track his acoustic guitar.......

Just a thought. :)

Tascam FW-1084. I'm using a Tascam FW-1884 and it works great.
