Please Recommend

Budget = up to $1000.
I have a Yamaha 01V with an ADAT card.
I record up to 8 channels of drums.
I would like to be mobile to record other instruments at friends houses or church.
I have a Mac ibook
I run DP4

I just got rid of a terratec adat card and switched from PC to Mac (since I have free access to mac products).

Please recommend a good soundcard solution for my needs. I am considering the M Audio 15/16 and the Motu firewire units.

What do you think?

Leaves ya with $250 for pre amps.

Yea, maybe you could get a deal somewhere on the MOTU 896. like a used one. That would be my choice

Has anyone out there actually seen/heard/used the new M Audio? It seems to do the sam as the MOTU for a little less.
