greetings esteemed unseen colleagues,

please forgive if this topic has been covered elsewhere.
i have to get some monitors soon.

i've ab'd the LSR 25P vs. PS-6 and percieved the events to
have more detail in the midrange while jbls seemed a bit
bassy for their "flat response" claim.

i did a home mix with the events and discovered on playback
via boom box that the bass wasn't represented quite as well
there as it was in the studio.

they are comparable in price and also at my budget ceiling.
can any of you with more expereince suggest another brand
to investigate? has anyone tried the yamahas?

i want to go the powered route.

also would like to know where to get the rnc compressor.
i'm not thrilled with the behringer.

thanks,
mo

You can get the RNC from Mercenary - http://www.mercenary.com

As far as monitors - please do a forum search... the topic has been covered a lot lately and has been documented to death.........................

Yo Mo -- Here's some Mo:]

For the $$$, the Yorkville YSM-1's are a great value.

Yorkville is SUPPOSED to have a powered version out but I haven't heard too many folks who have got them yet.

You can reach Yorkville on the net and get a # close to your area. Although they are made in Canada, there is an office across the bridge in Niagra Falls.

I found a "back" door dealer here in Grand Rapids, a musician, and that's where I got my YSM-1's.

This may have been caused by control room acoustics or lack thereof. Which means that you may have questionable results with any monitor and for my 2 cents I would suggest you look at Tannoy Active Reveals.
