i recently bought a korg d1600 and am still getting the hang of it, but here are two originals i recorded on it this weekend...

"someone to save me"

(i used a mxl 603s for acoustic, and i also used my taylor guitar's pick up at the same time... so i mixed both in.... and i used a mxl 67g for vocals)

"who"

(same set up for recording the acoustic... and then my friend ben used his studio projects b1 for a conga overhead, and we put my mxl v67 underneath the conga for a bit more kick... and ben used his b1 for his backup vocals)

any suggestions about the recording and or the actual orginal songs would be cool... thanks.

Well, the guitar performance and recording is really impressive. Really crisp sound and tight playing. The vocals weren't quite up to this same level. I found them to be a little less clear and often a little off-pitch. Some harmonies worked well, others not so well. I'd focus on keeping the harmonies as tight as possible. It may just be that since the guitar part is so on, any timing/pitch issues with the vocals stand out. Also, this is purely my opinion about your art- and it is your art -but I found the lyrics to be somewhat cheesy and using quite a few cliches.

Good products overall, stay the course.

i got to admit man, when the song first started i thought "here we go, a crappy recording Job". It got 10000% better very quickly though. I think your recording technique could improve the but perfromance was solid. I like that first song a lot. did you do the tracking vocals as well? they were very well done. Possibly try compressing the vocals a bit, they are a bit upfront and clippy to me.
nice

sorry, i just checked out the second song... much better recording and guitar playing... very catchy. nice touch with the bongos.
