I know I've posted this song a bunch of times. But I'm working on my guitar and vocal sound and I figure why not just screw up one song over and over instead of screwing up a bunch of songs.

Anyway, I have a new guitar on this one. Please let me know what you think about the mix. Thanks.

Forget about the attachment. I can't get it to work. Use the SoundCloud link.

I tried attaching an old file I had out there and the link worked fine. I quickly removed it so nobody would try reviewing with it. So it must be a bad MP3 file. I'll try re-uploading tonight I guess.

:(

These only come along maybe a couple of times a year. I wanna hear it!

Link doesn't work for me either....

HR attachments are buggy at best. Use an outside host.

something where it doesnt have to bring you to a different website and load something or have to click 3 buttons and recite something.

Ha - two pages of responses and nobody can hear the song yet. I'd make a joke about you guys needing lives. But with the number of posts I make here, the hypocrisy would just be too obvious.

I'm going to re-gen the MP3 and try again tonight. I'll test it myself, instead of assuming it works (like I did yesterday). if it's still a problem, I'll put it up on SoundCloud.

OK SoundCloud link now in the first post. File attachments are a POS recently I guess.

Guitars are more punk than before. Drums way better than the beginnings. Vox still great.

Only you can rhyme Listerine with Steve McQueen – brilliant.

Guitars and vocals seem better than I remember. The overheads are pretty sizzly. Kind of hard on the ears at times.

I haven't heard this before so I can't compare it to previous versions. It's very catchy... love those sparkling power-pop harmonies. The drum overheads seem a little high and there are places where the main vocals gets kinda swallowed by the other instruments....not sure if lowering the overheads would help let them shine through or maybe a little automation. I think the backing vox could also come down a little and still be effective. Great song!

Manslick - thanks.

Greg - I think the guitars and vox are better as well. The vox are to the point where I'm actually happy with them. On the guitars, what do you want to hear that you're not hearing? What are they lacking? have too much of? etc. I'd like to hear what you think. i think all I can do with the OHs is turn them down. There isn't much I can do to improve what's there. I think the OH mics were just too close to the cymbals.

fat_fleet - man, as many times as I've posted this, I figured everyone heard it by now. :) I'm about the same as you - like the vox a lot. Don't like the OHs. Love the drumming though. Great style. Wish that part was me.

Hmmm, I really pretty much like them they way they are. Listening again.....If it were my mix and I were really nitpicking, I'd probably look for a little more dimension and depth in the rhythm guitar tracks. More clarity. Probably a little touch less gain for a song like this - particularly in the left guitar. Maybe cut the mids just a little bit to make them a little chunkier but with a clear top end. And of course I'd track them really loud to get that percussive punch from the cab and speaker. :D

But that's just fine-tooth-combing this thing and I think what you have is certainly pretty damn good.

I think I missed your earlier posts of this song.

It's catchy. The vocals feel pretty buried, and the cymbals are a bit overwhelming.
Guitars and bass have good tone and clarity.
The harmonies seem a bit loud relative to the melody, but I'd suggest turning up the melody to match the harmonies rather than the opposite.
