I want to thank both Nilbog and Green Hornet for your help. I have indeed purchased the xitel product and all's working great now. Thank you for your help.

One last question, what's the best format to save my recorded files I've recorded onto my harddrive from my MD player? And how do I then transfer those so I can burn it off onto a CD? Sorry for the extra questions...

Save as a wave file. A digital transfer would be best if you have a card with spdif ins and the MD has spdif outs. Otherwise you will need to transfer analog.

Just curious to know what you mean by SPDIF's ins and outs?
Also once I save them as wave files, and have burned them onto CD, will the burned CD play on a normal stereo system, which is what my ultimate goal is...

Digital ports....
And yes, they will play on any CD player provided you make a music CD.
