Hey guys, Ive posted a thing like this before, but never got a responce(sp?) that helped. So anyways, Im looking to set up a SMALL(key word) computer based studio with a budget of about...1300 bucks. SO anyways, I was wondering, I have a windows me system, I like to use sonar 2, and I have an mr-8 made by fostex. I would like to know how I can use an analog mixer(this is the one Im getting...http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7...6116638180/g=live/search/detail/base_id/88600) to do post-preduction on my computer(as in like, me recording whatever into the computer, then mixing it all with the behringer). And what kind of sound cards/whatever do I need to start this up?
heyman109.......
first of all you should upgrade your operating system from ME to XP or 2000, then you should get an EVENT EZBUS sound card/mixer/software controller....that's around $600 but it's a bad bad sound card! monitors i would go for biamplified Events B5 studio...... they are fantastic!! they are the smallest ones and they kick ass...they'll run you around $450...maybe less.
the fostex? what will you be using it for? you have a ton of tracks in sonar..... sonar has a mixer too......check the EZBUS here
