Hey,

I was going to buy a pignose amp in the next month or so and i figured they are cheap and there all tube, i was going to go see how good they really are down at guitar center, but they dont carry them. So, if you guys could tell me if these amps are good, im looking at the 60 watt all tube one, and im looking for a good crunch, along with a nice clean sound.

Anyone?

Thanks

if you're dead-set on spending over $600 for a new 60w pignose, more power to ya...but, my advice is for you to re-consider the whole thing...about 6 yrs ago I spent $575 for a used (1987) fender--The Twin--120w, 2channels, killer fucking amp...I put in a matched-set (4) of mesa 6L6s, and I could'nt be happier...I use the twin as my left "channel" and a peavey Butcher half-stack for the right...a used fender twin will blow away any pignose...get real man!

I have to agree with ToyL, I have the same amp and it is a killer.

I just retubed with Sovtek and it has toned up even better than before.

i'd look for a used boogie.....

a head, 60 watts, probably a mark 3 or mark 4, channel switching, tone galore.

Like ToyL I'm a Fender fan, they work for me and are dependable. I personally like the Princeton Chorus, it's small enough to haul around and versatile enough to suit most of my needs. Unfortunately it's solid state but a tube preamp fixes that easy enough. Oh well it's your money buy what works best for you, just check out a few Fenders before you fork out your hard earned cash.
