hey
i am new to cubase 5 and after i record my guitar phrases on it,and sometimes i have to split them the play between the split parts got A kinda unwanted noise .it bothers me very much
please help to eliminate that noise

what are you outputting through, headphones, monitors, or computer speakers?

that could be the source of the problem, or perhaps toss on an expander which will help get rid of low level noise. (always helpful while recording as well, id reccomend looking into one).

i use tc electronics konnekt 8 sound card, akg k 271 headphones and no monitors

its not because of them.
for xample i record one phrase and split into 2 parts

and on the split area a noise happens which wasnt before but the other parts are ok

the noise happens after splitting a continous phrase or after glueing 2 separate
phrases. i want to get rid of the noise between them

plz help step by step i m newbie to sound recording and cubase

You'll get a click or pop if you split the sound at a point where the waveform isn't at or crossing the zero-line, which is pretty much every time you make a split anywhere other than silence. Solution? Add a tiny little fade at the start/end of the clip where you split it or, if joining two clips together, crossfade them together.

ok ,seems u got the problem
can u tell me exactly where i should go on cubase 5?
i selected the two separate phrases which are split and consecutive.the phrases arent overlapped.
when selected the split parts by range selection tool the crossfade botton cannot be selected (doesnt work)
what can i do?
