OK im looking for the hip hop experts and i came to the right place. IThis is a very Rough draft it has not been mixed yet or added any plugins on it yet at all. It was recorded through a neumon u87 mic then into a digidesign preamp then to protools. I was just wanting your guys opinion on how i can make it better. What i can do to to improve the taste and add a lil hotness into it. Mayby some cool effects some sound effect type stuff i have fruity loop and reason with there Synthesizers. JUSt give me some feedback whatever you guys think. Im just not looking for anyhting on the beat its done finished i can only eq it .

Use different cabling.

OK...Here i go

1. Unfortunately the beat needs more edge to it, don't just record to the beat, if its yours track it out and give each sound its own tender lovin care (EQ for each sound that would have made a very BIG difference)

2. If you are going to record with the instrumental then turn your vocals up a lil bit, if you don't have monitors get some (a pair of monitors is better than no pair )

3. Vocals are dry, try a very little touch of reverb, now if you want and you do mix with all the parts in your instrumental you can vary the reverb in the vocal smoothly and everything should fit nicely (EQ is your friend, but the ms setting on the reverb you use should be tempo matched for best results)

4. try panning the chorus part to thicken it up a little bit, it'll give the song a sence of space and room (remember you and the beat need room to breath)

5. And the most obvious observation i can make is use some compression on those vocals man! that alone would have increased the volume of the track (the vocal track anyway).

i like the track concept, good thing the execution isn't final. You still have time to make a banger!

yeah i got home and listen to it and i was thinking this is terrible. but i really just ran right to the studio opend the session and just bounced it as was. I didnt have time to mix or anything. I will here soon though. As soon as get done with another project. I intended to kinda spice up the chorus with panning but havent tryed it yet. Thanx on the info though appreciate it .
