Training wheels on
I posted a mix of my daughters singing one of my songs on the mp3 clinic a while back, and got some advice about working on the beginning of the chorus, where it was sounding like the lead vocal was clipping. Some of the guys talked about EQ'ing, and +,- hertz stuff, which was way over my head, so I finally had some time to take Jeff Maher's advice, and do some experimenting. I think I learned some things, and made some improvements, but when I play all the tracks together, I'm still hearing a buzzing throughout parts of the song. I listened to each track separately, and they sound good. I tried to EQ so it looks like nothing is peaking at the same frequency, but I'm doing something wrong.

Is anyone interested in the project of helping me get better acquainted with how this works/should work? Maybe even let me send the four tracks in .wav files, and see what you do to fix it??

I'd really appreciate the help. I know I'll use it, once I get a better understanding of what I'm doing!:)

I'd be willing to work with the files in Pro Tools and help you with any problems. Just PM (private message) me with more information.

Thanks

Hi Terrence,
Thank you for the offer, but I actually have been corresponding with Jeff Maher on another project, and he helped me with this problem as well. It turns out that I recorded three of the 4 tracks too "hot". Now that he explained it to me, it makes perfect sense! He provided details on what he did to each track to fix the problem, so I can begin experimenting, and learning from what he did.
Take care, and see you around in the forums!
