 now when i record guitar and vocals....do i have to bounce the tracks like if i use Track 1 and Track 2...To get the stereo quality...like effects and stuff...cuz it sounds great until i try to burn it too a CD then the guitar is on one side and the vocals are on the other..and i hear no effects..please help if ya can and also do i need to make a master of each song to get the song corrected?

ummmm

iam using a fostex VF80EX and iam recording on to a hard drive then burning to a CD-R

Go to www.fostex.com for help. Check the 'knowledge base' (a list of frequently asked questions) or the users forum. An e-mail sent to the support staff will yield an answer in a day or two. The site was very helpful when I was getting started with my vf160ex.

First you have to make a 2-track stereo Master, mixed down from tracks 1-6, or whatever tracks you have music on... This is detailed in the manual. You apply the effects and panning while making the final Master onto tracks 7/8.

Then when the Master is finished, the Fostex automatically turns it into a new program, listed as "MST..." You will still have the original unmixed program left as it was.

Unless you're just making a backup, you should be burning final CDs from this "MST..." program.

This is pretty well explained in the manual.
