Ok...I record in my basement on a Tascam 414 MkII....i want better QUALITY....

I thought buying the Delta 66 would increase my quality...but my bro told me that my quality would only change in PLAYBACK since i record in the basement (not on a computer)....

for ex: when i process my vocals in cool edit pro 1.2a will the Delta 66 increase my quality??
---------

THE REAL QUESTION IS : WILL BUYING THE DELTA 66 IMPROVE MY OVERALL QUALITY (not recording quality) LIKE WHEN I BURN TO CD???

thank you for the help...

If your wanting to get the 66, why not record to your PC ??? You will get far better recordings this way than you will ever get with the Tascam.

Garbage in, Garbage out. The delta will help your mixdowns but the biggest problem is the 4track. Record straight to the computer if you want noticeably better quality.

yeah i know all that.....

but the problem is i can't RECORD on the comp...it's in the living room...i'm 16....not my house

If you can't mix or record on the computer, don't get the Delta66.

Slackmaster 2000

thats the thing... I ONLY MIX ON THE COMP....

so will the Delta 66 still improve my quality?

yeah, mixing and mastering is pretty much done without the help of your soundcard (other than playing back). Mainly, your comp is doing a whole lot of math in those processes. My advice is, save the money you were gonna get the card with and save some more till you can get your own PC with your own sound card, or at least a digital standalone. Or talk your parents into getting you your own computer or something, like that kid in the Dell commercials...
