I went into my BIOS and disabled ACPI, and now Windows 98 tries to install new hardware (?) and reinstall drivers for everything. I don't recommend this tweak. Suffice to say, I'm writing this from another machine. Any ideas?

I've got:
ABIT BE6-II
Celeron @950
512 RAM
Win 98

All of which was fine till I messed with it. Help.

Dude!
If you disable ACPI the windows will have to reload all the drivers since it has to assign individual IRQs. If you are not sure what to do, you can always enable ACPI. When you go back to ACPI, I don't think it will reload drivers, since it is already there.

On win2000, it's much easier to disable ACPI. You can do it from the 'control panel', but it will still reload drivers.
Good luck!
