please help iam desperate!

ok heres my problem. i have a behringer ub1222 fx pro mixer and a m-audio audiophile2496. my prob is when recording im getting a loop.in otherwords. when i record one track and go to do over dubs not only does it record the track im intending to record but also the playback.I have delt with behringer tech support for about 2 months now and tried everythign possible and we cant figure this out. then i called m-audio and they say it has nothing to do with the soundcard.i have tried every possible solution poissible.currently i have things setup as instructed by behringer. monitors go in to the control room on the mixer.tape out on mixer to soundcard. and i have my playback on a input channel on my mixer from my soundcard.i have been dealing with this for so long i just dont know what to try anymore.please help.

If your description of your setup is complete and accurate, you need to pull down the fader that being fed by the soundcard to do any overdubbing, then raise it again to hear playback. Monitor the backing for the overdub out of the MAudio's headphone jack.
