Definitely energy. There was some cool parts. I liked that breakdown part. I bet these guys would be fun to see live. I wasn't crazy about the guitar tone. Seemed a little thin and harsh, but I have a hell of a time with guitar tone on my monitoring system. Mine either sound too shrill or too muddy and I can't make my own sound right. I liked the song, sorry I can't be of too much mix help.

welllll these guys SUCK live! they're so boring. and they're terrible. i did a lot on the recording... gave ideas, auto-tune, and made em do all the parts at least 23904234 times to get it semi-tight.
funny part! the asshole just bought a mesa dual-recto and the idiot doesnt know how to use it at all. he doesnt know what the hell he's doing and it sounded like shit. i thought an amp that good it wasnt possible to get it to sound that bad, but it turned out better than i expected on tape. It sounded crappy so i tried boosting it at about 3k a little, but that just made it harsh and seemed muddy... anyone have any advice on this?
I'm also not too happy with the snare sound. it sounds raw and garage-band-style. i tried adding some high end to this as well but then it just didnt sound as good. i suppose i need to work harder on getting the sound i want from the source and not depending so much on EQ.
Thanks for the comment! anyone else?

Too bad they suck live, I really liked the song :)

I don't really have any mixing ideas, it sounds good to me on that end. My only real complaints were more with the playing.

The guitar seems to be out of tune in a few places, and/or there's some stray notes here and there that don't really fit.

Overall, I thought the guitar tone was good, but I didn't really like the palm muted guitar sound during the breakdown, it sounds a little too fuzzy to my ears.

Neither of these things would probably be easily fixable without retracking (which i'm assuming isn't the prefered solution now, especially for 30 bones :) )

Nice job!

Lots of energy. That sounded good. The song moved well. I liked the drummer and guitarist.

I thought the guitar sound was a little thin. Just a little, but it needed a little more umph in the low end. As your post indicated, I think you already know this.

The vocals were a bit low in the mix and a bit thin sounding as well. Maybe a bit (more) reverb. I might suggest to mic the singer a bit closer. Doubled vox might sound good here.

A little vocal pitchiness at 1:55-1:58 I thought. Harmony vocal kind of out of sync at 2:28-2:30. Heard drumsticks click each other at 3:47. I still like the drummer though :D.

Lyrically the song was a bit boring.

My thoughts.

nice! thanks a lot guys for all the posts

i'm gonna go fix all the stuff that doesnt involve retracking
(i knwo what you mean about the guitars, i'm gonna try and run them thru auto-tune and see what happens)

The first thing I noticed was it has a kinda binaural sound. You could take more advantage of that virtual stereo field and spread the players a little more. The guitars and drums need more meat on them. That said, I think it would be a really kicking piece.
